If I had to choose one word to describe Meg and Rob’s wedding, I think it would be FUN. Amidst the rainy October day, they had a beautiful wedding ceremony and an amazing reception at Mill Creek Country Club in Geneva. I could tell their guests had the time of their lives…definitely one for the memories! I had a blast capturing their wedding photos. Here a few…

Deval and Blake had a whirlwind day at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows. Two ceremonies and three outfit changes later Deval and Blake were married. I absolutely loved the chance to shoot an Indian wedding, as there are so many beautiful colors and traditions that occur. I loved how they used a Hummer in lieu of the traditional elephant during the Baraat ceremony. Another one of my favorite parts of the day was when we caught some amazing light just after the Christian ceremony as the sun was setting. Here are just a few of the many many photos I captured throughout their day.

David and Marina had a fabulous contemporary Greek wedding. It was a gorgeous September day…amidst all the rain Chicago has had this fall. The ceremony was held at St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago. Since the bride and groom have their back to the audience during the entire time of the ceremony, it is nice that Greek churches usually allow you to stand on the side of the altar facing the couple. It’s usually a great shot of the couple’s faces the entire time, but the tricky part is that you have to stay where you are. This is where my sympathy for the bride and maid of honor come in, who are usually wearing 3 inch heels. I’m wearing the most comfortable shoes I can find, and my feet start to tingle after the hour is up. That marble floor is nothing to balk at!
After the ceremony we took photos in the lush Lily Pond in Lincoln Park. This hidden gem is never too crowded and a beautiful backdrop for photos. Then we headed to Salvatore’s in Lincoln Park for the reception. Beep Media provided the music and they did a great job. I loved the Greek dancing. Opa!

Ed and Sam’s celebrated their wedding on an absolutely beautiful day. The Ivy Room at Tree Studios is one of the most gorgeous locations in Chicago, and I was looking forward to shoot this wedding. Everyone was as relaxed as could be. I don’t often see bride and grooms mingling with the guests during cocktail hour before the ceremony has even taken place, but that’s exactly what they did. They had a fantastic party after the ceremony and dinner, delivered by Cage and Aquarium Productions. At the very end of the night I took Ed and Sam around the city for a few photos.

Music is the Weapon was hosted at the Between Lounge on September 17. It was a great cause to promote three Non-Profit Organizations, Connect Force, En Masse and Original Change Project. DJ Limbs, a fellow deejay at Cage and Aquarium Productions, helped organize the night. The night was complete with music by Man O Wax and DJ Limbs and some b-boy action.

I photographed a sort of last minute engagement session recently for Deval and Blake at the Morton Arboretum. They were hoping to have some great shots for the reception cards I hand out at each wedding and a few shots to personalize their guest book. I was excited to work with them because we are only a couple of short weeks away from their wedding. The engagement session is a great opportunity for them to get comfortable in front of the camera and for us to get to know each other a little better. We came to discover that we are all True Blood fans…can’t wait for Sunday’s season ender! Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session.

Bridget and Kyle had a beautiful afternoon wedding in the garden at the Cheney Mansion in Oak Park, IL. The sunny weather kept everyone in good spirits and the infectious smile Bridget carried around with her all day kind of makes you want to get married all over again. I love that Bridget had dreams of a Cheney Mansion wedding ever since she was a little girl. It is a great, all-in-one location for ceremony, photos and reception. The grounds are a lush green providing a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding. A few of my favorite photos from the day…

I was more than honored when Lisa and Karl asked me to be their wedding photographer last year. I’ve known Lisa for a very long time since she is a close friend of my older sister, Nikki, and I couldn’t have been happier to share in her wedding day.
We took the majority of the days photos at Lisa’s parent’s home in Island Lake. I love that we were able to take photos next to the hammock in the backyard, where Karl proposed. Another highlight of the day was the Rolls Royce limo, a big surprise from Lisa’s parents.
The ceremony was at Transfiguration Church in Wauconda. Lisa and Karl hosted all 350+ of their guests at Meridian Banquets in Rolling Meadows. It was a fabulous wedding and a great party, complete with an authentic Italian wedding band and a crasher!

I’m excited to announce the launch of my new blog. If you are looking for my old blog, it’s here. Thanks for stopping by. Please let me know what you think!
