Shelley Anderson's Blog bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

When I studied photojournalism in college, something about newspaper photography didn't quite click with me. I began to shoot weddings soon thereafter and discovered I had found the perfect fit for my passion for photography. After photographing almost 150 weddings--and attending my own--I still absolutely love the wedding day and everything that comes with it. I enjoy meeting couples during the planning process because there are so many fun things about to happen in their lives. The
wedding is one of the most significant of these occasions, and I am
honored when I am asked to photograph this special moment. I look forward to capturing the candid, emotional moments of each unique day that will help couples cherish their wedding photos forever.

Roz and Albert’s Wedding

Union station was the perfect spot to take Roz and Albert’s location wedding photos since it was a chilly December day. The day started with a beautiful ceremony on the North side of Chicago and ended with a unique reception at Furama Restaurant. I got to try a lot of interesting and authentic food that...

Carrie and Micah’s Wedding

It’s freezing right now in Chicago, so it’s hard to recall the last gorgeous weekend we had in 2009. It was in November, and it turned out to be the perfect weekend for a wedding. I am sure it was a nice surprise for Carrie and Micah! They had an intimate ceremony at Salvatore’s followed...

Deval and Blake’s Wedding

Deval and Blake had a whirlwind day at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows. Two ceremonies and three outfit changes later Deval and Blake were married. I absolutely loved the chance to shoot an Indian wedding, as there are so many beautiful colors and traditions that occur. I loved how they used a Hummer in...

David and Marina

David and Marina had a fabulous contemporary Greek wedding. It was a gorgeous September day…amidst all the rain Chicago has had this fall. The ceremony was held at St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago. Since the bride and groom have their back to the audience during the entire time of the ceremony, it is...

Ed and Sam

Ed and Sam’s celebrated their wedding on an absolutely beautiful day. The Ivy Room at Tree Studios is one of the most gorgeous locations in Chicago, and I was looking forward to shoot this wedding. Everyone was as relaxed as could be. I don’t often see bride and grooms mingling with the guests during cocktail...

Bridget and Kyle’s wedding

Bridget and Kyle had a beautiful afternoon wedding in the garden at the Cheney Mansion in Oak Park, IL. The sunny weather kept everyone in good spirits and the infectious smile Bridget carried around with her all day kind of makes you want to get married all over again. I love that Bridget had dreams...

Lisa and Karl’s Wedding

I was more than honored when Lisa and Karl asked me to be their wedding photographer last year. I’ve known Lisa for a very long time since she is a close friend of my older sister, Nikki, and I couldn’t have been happier to share in her wedding day.
We took the majority of the days...
