My husband and I are so proud to announce the arrival of our new daughter, Eleanor Joyce. She was born on May 10 and she was 9 lbs even and 20 3/4 inches. She is the love of our lives and maybe the cutest baby ever! (Not that we’re biased.) Here are a few photos from when she is 10 days old.

Chicago has had an amazing spring this year for a change, and it was beautiful outside the day that I photographed Heather and Al for their engagement session. We headed downtown to Millennium Park for these shots and there were beautiful tulips and flowering trees everywhere. I can’t wait to photograph these lovebirds at their wedding this summer!

Emily and Andrew stopped by recently for the very first children portrait shoot in my new studio. Emily’s personality made her so much fun to photograph and Andrew is as adorable as ever!

The weather in Chicago is finally turning the corner and I’m able to get back outside with some couples for engagement sessions! I photographed Christina and Thomas on a chilly, but beautiful evening in April recently, just before sundown when the light was spectacular. We hit up several spots around Evanston and finished up near the Lake with a skyline backdrop on Northwestern’s campus.

Amy and Jason were willing to brave the cold last week for their engagement photos and I’m glad they did because we had a blast! …before our fingers froze off. We started out at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, which was a little bit like the tropics relatively speaking. Then we moved outside to take pictures by the lake. It was so foggy that day that there’s not a true view of the Chicago skyline, but a hint of it comes through for an interesting look. The ice caps on posts that run along the shore were also pretty fascinating!

Union station was the perfect spot to take Roz and Albert’s location wedding photos since it was a chilly December day. The day started with a beautiful ceremony on the North side of Chicago and ended with a unique reception at Furama Restaurant. I got to try a lot of interesting and authentic food that night!

I recently took some shots of Herbivore, an amazing Chicago-based jazz quartet. Here are a couple of my favorites!

It’s freezing right now in Chicago, so it’s hard to recall the last gorgeous weekend we had in 2009. It was in November, and it turned out to be the perfect weekend for a wedding. I am sure it was a nice surprise for Carrie and Micah! They had an intimate ceremony at Salvatore’s followed by a rockin’ dance party. One of my favorite things about their wedding…Carrie’s Jimmy Choo shoes. I think my opening picture to this blog post explains their awesomeness. Another favorite part of the day was getting on the rooftop at the Rafaello Hotel for some shots with the guys. Very fun!

I recently took holiday photos for Emily, Andrew and Molly. I think Mom and Dad would agree that these children are angels and Molly is as cute as ever!

I photographed Lauren and Cesar’s engagement photos in and around Millennium Park in late October…the perfect time for beautiful fall colors! It was a gorgeous day for photos. I can’t wait for their wedding next July! Here are a few of my favorites.
